This week, I’m toting around possibly over four pounds of baby. I’m not even going to talk about how much of me is being toted. Because you don’t want to know. Its kinda scary. TheBump.com wants me to think Baby is still the size of a squash but I like imagining him to be the size of one of those cute little baby watermelons instead.

Week thirty-two has been wonderful to me. I’m not sleeping much at night but middle-of-the-day catnaps have been my godsend. All signs of hip pain have disappeared along taking my backaches with it. Huzzah! I’ve even managed two walks around the zoo in a two week period – that’s how good I’ve been feeling.
The heartburn is a different story. There’s nothing like waking up at 2am because your chest and throat are on fire. Don’t let the relief methods deceive you. Maalox, Tums, Pepcid? Don’t work. Watermelon? Ick. Sleeping straight up? Sometimes. I guess its par for the course though. If the old wives tails are true, Baby is going to have a crazy head of hair at birth. His brother sure did and Lord knows I suffered through heartburn then that was 10x worse than anything I’m feeling now.

As of today, we are down to 50 days til D(ue)-Day. I’m starting to take early bets on the day baby plans to make his appearance. I’ve been talking myself up to expecting this boy will want to stay in there longer than planned just like his big brother. If I’m prepared to be overdue and long-laboring, I won’t be crying into Dr. Castillo’s shoulder about how tired I am of being pregnant and could I just please oh please have a tiny bit of Pitocin and my water broken? Lol. I am secretly hoping that the predictions I’ve received to date are true and Baby will decide to come on time and quick, though.

Kaleb’s excitement these last couple of months have been a huge relief joy. He’s been attentive, helpful and very interested in the baby and my pregnancy in general. Last night after a bout of near hysterical laughter at the dancing act my belly has been doing lately, he looked at me and said “Mama, I like seeing your belly. It makes me think of how cool my baby brother is going to be”. [insert awwws here].

The fruit cravings continue. My body must really be missing summer because all I can think of are plums, pluots, cherries, blueberries, blackberries, nomnomnom. Last night I had a bunch of grapes and five (yes, FIVE) Cuties for dinner. And I just had another two while typing this paragraph. Because Cuties are awesome. And tasty.

On the robot rumpus room front, I finally decided on fabric, bedding patterns, and wall decorations. After a surprisingly productive trip to Target and a search through the dollar bin, I picked up a few awesome accent pieces to put on shelves and bedside tables. One fabric order has come in so far and the other is out for delivery today. Our UPS guy better watch out – I’m so excited he may get a hug. Lol.

This weekend, we’re starting on the wall canvases. The crib and Kaleb’s new bed are being delivered within the next couple of weeks. The nester in me is finally happy.
