One of my closest friends and her husband are expecting a baby this summer. I could not be happier for them. The second I got the “I’ve got something to tell you” text from her, I just knew she was going to be announcing baby news.

Not knowing whether they were having a boy or a girl, shuffled through my yarn stash to find colors that would be properly gender neutral and got started on the blanket right away. The pattern I used is one that I’ve been eying for a few months, so I was excited to have a reason to put it to use.

The pattern was really easy and the final product was perfect. I can’t wait to see pictures of the baby wrapped in it once she’s born. Its so exciting to have friends who are having babies. It eases some of the baby fever I’ve got going on since Miles went and became a toddler.

My little sidekick was determined to get outside and get his hands on the new blanket while I was trying to get blog photos of it. He’s been watching and waiting to get a hold of it all week now. Looks like I’ll be making one for him very soon.

As far as crafty pursuits go, I love-love-love crocheting.
And nothing is more fun than crocheting baby blankets for babies on the way.
What is your craft of choice?
