miles & amelia: TWO(years) & TWO(months)

*Um, so life with three kids is CUH-razy! I’ve been trying to write separate counting time posts for Ame and Miles for over a month. I decided to combine them to save time otherwise they’d never get done. Kinda like those birth announcements I’ve been meaning to send out for the last two months. ;)

MILES V.

life of kamm | miles & amelia: two(years) & two(months) Its completely unfathomable to me that Miles is two. And when I say unfathomable, I mean that my mind is totally blown.

This boy of ours is a whirlwind. If there was a recipe for Miles V, it would be to take equal parts of fire and spirit and fun and noise and laughs, mix them in a bowl and enjoy.

Miles is loving and affectionate but quick to stand up for himself (usually to Kaleb) when he feels its necessary. He’s friendly but still cautious around adults that he doesn’t know. He’s adventurous with a side of daredevil. He wants to climb, jump, and run all the time. He love to save the day a few times each day in full on superhero garb. He’s talkative and inquisitive. I find myself answering questions that I didn’t imagine he’d be asking at two years old.

We’re moving into tantrum territory and even that has been more funny than frustrating. He likes to push and push and test but not so much until he gets his way, but more to make us laugh.

This year, his birthday celebration was done on a much smaller scale than last year but there was no less love and excitement. Candles, cake, mariachi, and his closest loved ones (along with some new toys, of course) were what marked his special day.

AMELIA R.

Amelia’s list of accomplishments for a two (haha, now almost three) month old is quite impressive. She’s rolling over from her belly to back about 80% of the time. She’s grabbing at things and shoving them into her mouth. She finally found and figured out how to chew on her own hand without assistance from anyone else.

She smiles and coos and even meows whenever she sees one of us. She doesn’t mind the grabby hands of her big brothers when they want to hold her. She naps in her bunny chair to the sounds of the dishwasher going. She snuggles happily into whichever arms are holding her. She endures multiple outfit changes with grace and a smile. She holds onto her favorite dolly with her fists clenched and a smile in her eyes.

As un(or non?) eloquent as the word awesome is, it pretty much sums up my feeling of all three of my children. They’re awesome.
