those days of summer

Summer is still hanging around for another few weeks, but in my mind its pretty much over. Kaleb starts his first day of fourth grade today and last night we had our first real rain storm in quite some time.

The days of playing in the sprinklers, eating dinner on the back patio and snatching strawberries fresh off the vine will have to be saved until next year. We’ll look forward to next summer’s road trips, family reunions and baseball games. Until then, I’m ready to enjoy pumpkins, scarves, boots and apple picking.
